About Word In The Hand
Word In The Hand Ministries began with a simple idea — placing God’s Word into the hands of people who may not own a Bible.
In early 2026, Tim Collins, founder of the News & Views community magazines, purchased 56 Bibles to give to Crossroads Church Food Bank. Within three days, 10 had already been given to people going through difficult moments in their lives.
Seeing a potential need, Tim began reaching out to local ministries. The response was overwhelming. Every organization he spoke with serving people in difficult situations said they would love a steady supply of Bibles to offer alongside the practical help they already provide.
A GoFundMe page was created, and contributions quickly came in. Within days 400 New Testaments were purchased — each with the word HOPE on the cover.
Bibles have already been provided to ministries serving people in crisis throughout West Georgia, including the following organizations:
The Never Alone Clubhouse: Provides addiction recovery services and peer based counseling, as well as a Recovery to the Rescue (RTTR) mobile unit.
Good Samaritan Center: Provides food to around 800 families every week.
Fullerville Mission: Food, clothing, homeless services, Christian counseling, diaper ministry, and other outreach programs.
Crossroads for Life/Vision 21 Services: Supportive housing for homeless and formerly homeless men, women, and families.
JC Freedom House: Providing shelter housing to women facing crisis situations.
Daily Bread Ministries of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd: Provides food, supplies, and support to a local homeless camp.
PRC Medical: Assists those facing an unplanned pregnancy with safe, confidential, and compassionate women’s clinic services.
Crossroads Church Food Pantry: Food distribution programs serving over 400 families per month.
Shine Bright Ministries: Household Essential Supplies ministry that works with local food banks.
Midway Community Pantry is a weekly food pantry on Midway Road in Douglasville.
Loving Hands Ministry is a second-hand store in Douglasville offering gently used, second-hand clothing, household goods, and home decor items.
Through these partnerships, Bibles are reaching people facing homelessness, addiction recovery, food insecurity, crisis pregnancy, and other difficult situations across West Georgia.
How Bibles Are Provided
Donations to Word In The Hand Ministries are used to purchase Bibles in bulk so they can be provided at no cost to local ministries serving people in crisis.
Bibles are delivered directly to food banks, recovery programs, shelters, pregnancy centers, and outreach ministries throughout West Georgia. These ministries then make them available to individuals who may not own a Bible or who are searching for hope during difficult moments in life.
Because the Bibles are purchased in bulk, even a small contribution can help place multiple Bibles into the hands of people who need encouragement and direction.
