Word In The Hand Bible Project is a Bible outreach of Shine Bright Ministries, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
We partner with local ministries to place free Bibles in the hands of people who need hope through God’s Word.
Through partnerships with food banks, shelters, recovery programs, and outreach ministries, we help ensure that anyone seeking God’s Word has access to a Bible.
Word In The Hand Bible Project began in early 2026. Tim Collins, founder of the News & Views community magazines, purchased 56 Bibles to give to a food bank in Douglasville, Georgia. Within three days, 10 had already been given out to people who were going through difficult moments in their lives. Read what happened next in the About section of the website.
Word In The Hand works alongside local ministries that are already serving people in difficult situations. Rather than creating new programs, we provide Bibles to trusted organizations such as food banks, shelters, recovery programs, and outreach ministries. These ministries already have relationships with the people they serve, and are able to place Bibles directly into the hands of those who may be searching for hope.

What We Do
We raise money to purchase Bibles in bulk at the lowest possible cost. These Bibles are then distributed to local ministries where they are provided free to people who need hope.
